EYSA Coach and Cheerleader Alumna Wins 2022 Chesterfield Cheerleader League (CCL) Scholarship

Serinati Flowers, EYSA Junior/Senior Cheer Coach, was awarded the 2022 CCL Scholarship during the Matoaca High School Senior Scholarship Ceremony in May. Serinati began her career with EYSA as a mascot in 2008. She would go on to take the helm as head coach/cheerleader at 13 years old under the direction of Coach Sheila Campbell, EYSA Cheer Director. Serinati was also simultaneously awarded the Matoaca Middle School Cheer MVP the same season. She would hold her position as coach/cheerleader for two consecutive years. Upon aging out of EYSA, Serinati remained as head coach of the Junior/Senior squad. In 2021, alongside her assistant coach/EYSA alumna and sister, Saniya Flowers, the two coached the Junior/Senior squad to a first-place victory in the CCL Cheer Spectacular.

Serinati graduated in May from John Tyler Community College, Summa Cum Laude with her Associate Degree in General Studies and from Matoaca High School with her Advanced Studies Diploma. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and DECA where she served as Vice President of Public Relations. Serinati held class offices as both Junior Class President and Senior Class President. She was a Spirit Mentor, Tutor, Varsity Cheer Captain, Homecoming Queen, and Prom Queen. She is the Junior Executive Director at Bible Covenant Believers in Christ Deliverance Ministry under the pastorship of Chief Apostle Francine Cole. Serinati is also a 2022 WOBTDAA Senior Debutante who has been awarded several scholarships from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Tau Phi Omega and Pi Rho Omega Chapters), Anew Living, Angel Decarlo Foundation, Bible Covenant, CCL, Chesterfield County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mervin Daugherty, Chick-fil-A (Colonial Heights), and Project R.O.Y. She is a 2022 Virginia State University Presidential Scholar and Honors College Student who plans to major in psychology.
